The project

We faced the dual challenge of adapting the interface of the system acquired by the company to incorporate AltoQi's identity, followed by a comprehensive redesign. Using the Design System created in-house, we set about this task with a view to meeting their constantly evolving needs.

To ensure a complete understanding of the project, we began a Discover process, used in the 4D's methodology.

Discover

After conducting a thorough benchmark analysis to gain deep insights into the product and its competitors, as well as gathering valuable insights to contribute to the client's goals, we embarked on the Atomic UX Research methodology in collaboration with the Product Owner and their team. Our primary objective was to comprehensively understand their product objectives. This involved conducting user interviews to attentively listen their feedback and identify their pain points.

By analyzing their insights, we were able to understand the specific challenges users encountered while navigating the platform and target the key functionalities they desired enhancements for.

Define

To structure our approach, we adopted a Moscow framework to prioritize thoughts. Subsequently, we identified personas to align with the user's perspective. In adittion, we crafted a user flow focusing on the core aspects of the product. This facilitated our understanding of whether the system was fulfilling its functions and provided insights into areas for improvement.

Design

In the third phase, we constructed three wireframe prototypes exemplifying the core functionalities of the software for the usability test to validate our ideas. At the conclusion of this phase, we synthesized our findings and insights to create a fourth prototype, incorporating the most successful elements from our previous iterations.

Deliver

Once everything was in place, we started the development of additional screens for the purchased software, utilizing the in-house Design System. Given that the mobile platform was less frequently utilized by users, we condensed its functionality to prioritize the most essential features.

Feedback

During the handover of the new software to the clients, we implemented a strategy where one of them committed to conducting a real pilot project within the workflow. Surprisingly, just 4 weeks after the implementation began, they expanded its usage to 11 projects within the manager.

Workflow is very good, it gives me the precision of how much time I've actually spent on the job and this allows me to charge fairly and not on a guess.”- Atopus
